BIG 2016 Merlin Annual Pass Sale now ON! Save £££’s on a year of fun

YES! It’s January, which means it’s time for the 2016 Merlin Annual Pass Sale!

This year we are properly excited to be working with Merlin Annual Pass – we’re Ambassadors for 2016, and plan to be making the very most of our passes!

Although it initially feels like a big spend (Merlin Annual Pass Sale price is just under £600 for our family of six, but that will go up to almost £800 in February), spread that across the year and you soon see that the cost of the annual pass is incredible value.
Chessington standard ticket prices, for example, are £36pp (regardless of age). Which means just one day visit for our family would set us back £216. A trip to Alton Towers would be £263 for the six of us.

But right now is when you can make the most of the pass too – make your 2016 new year’s resolution one of laughter and bag the ultimate bargain – 52 weekends of family fun in the UK with a Merlin Annual Pass, which is currently priced from just £99 per person* in the special new year sale!

Merlin in the UK isn’t just about travelling to the big theme parks that we all know, either – there’s WAY more fun on offer than that, right on your doorstep wherever you live. From coming nose to fin with underwater creatures at SEA LIFE centres across the country from Scotland to Gweek, to posing with the Hollywood stars at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool and watching history come to life in re-enactments at Warwick Castle, a Merlin Annual Pass opens the door to 32 fascinating and wonderful worlds, so wherever you live, you’re guaranteed to have a passport to fun for the whole year.

With a pass in your wallet, it’s so much easier to wake up on the weekend and say “who fancies a trip to Chessington today?”. Having made the initial investment in the pass, it’s free visits for the whole year – and with the sale price, that’s a huge saving of almost £200 for us as a family of six. Which means that with just three visits we would have made our money back – and I guarantee we’ll make a lot more than three visits over the year!

  1. That really is amazing value! I’ve had Merlin Passes before at the normal price and even then I was astounded by how much we got out of them.
I fully intend to buy us some in the sale this time. As well as planning fun days out around them, on the days where the weather is rubbish and the kids are bored, we visit the nearest Sea Life centre to keep them entertained, at no cost except lunch out!
They are great for the special events they have on too, like the Halloween events, the fireworks etc.

    • Yes, I think if you have to make the effort and find the funds you’ll go less. but once you have the pass you almost feel obligated to use it, and you really do get out and make the most of it. Like you say, a few hours in the local Sea Life centre is a great way to spend a wet afternoon.

      • I haven’t had one of these Merlin passes but they look really good value. I always hesitate as the parks are so expensive. I think this could be just the thing to swing it, my daughter is very keen!

        • I know what you mean Jackie, but once you work out the actual value it suddenly becomes a bit of a no-brainer, doesn’t it? Especially for those of us with older kids who seem to be inconveniently far less content with an afternoon in the park and feeding the ducks!

  2. With two adrenalin junkies as children this is definitely a great offer for the theme parks alone, without the added bonus of entry to the London Eye, London Dungeons, Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle. I have a soon to be 13 year old and was struggling with present ideas…..not any more!!! Bring on the fun!!!

  3. Perfect timing we usually buy 1 annual family membership for something each year and have been talking about what this year’s should be, with the discount the decision is clear!

    • It’s a great time for it, isn’t it? Brilliant to do the sale right now before the parks open for the year, rather than just discounting for the last two months of the season, for example.

  4. Great tip to get the lower price now – thanks so much. My kids are now just the right age to both get the most out of lots of these types of family days out. Thanks!

    • Jeepers, you’re thinking ahead! Obviously this year’s sale is no good for you as it’ll have run out by then, but you could def create a nice voucher to give them for Christmas and buy in next January’s sale!
