Camping in South West France next year just got so much cooler with the launch of a fleet of uniquely customised, classic VW camper vans called Pucci, Jardi, Fleur, Gary and Hippy – all equipped with integrated iPhone/iPod music and phone systems as well as iPads pre-loaded with films, games and guides. The campers are all VW Type 2 combi vehicles dating from the mid ‘70s. All have been designed to convey their own quirky individual character, but are immediately recognisable as part of the WeDubYou fleet, which will be available to rent across South West France in 2013.

WeDubYou has been set up by husband and wife team, Yvette and Tony Martin, who moved to South West France from Brighton in 2010 and discovered the delights of travelling in a classic camper van whilst searching for a home. Over the last year, the couple have sourced their first five classic campers, had them customised in their own unique style and added a twist of technology to reflect the 21st century need to stay connected. With more than a nod to comfort, the vans also come stylishly equipped with tableware, bedding and awnings. Clients are met at the airport, throw their bags into the van and the holiday begins!

In addition to a week’s standard campervan hire, WeDubYou also offers several add-on packages including: ‘VIP’, which sees the fridge stocked full of local goodies and Champagne on arrival; ‘VIP Velos’, which also includes a couple of electric bikes to use during the trip; and ‘Easy Start’ which gets clients settled on their first night with a booking at one of France’s best campsites and an evening meal included in the price.

WeDubYou will deliver the campers to a number of airports in the region, including Bergerac, Limoges and Agen. From there, it’s an easy drive to many historic villages, such as Issigeac, Monpazier and Monflanquin, while less than three hours away are the surfing towns of the west coast, or the chic towns and villages along the Mediterranean.

Seven nights in a WeDubYou fully equipped classic camper will cost from £375, based on pick up and drop off at Bergerac Airport.
