Netflix Stream Team – Staying In. It’s everything it’s cracked up to be.

Netflix_StreamTeam_Badge_zpsf5fbdef1As the nights draw in and the weather turns cold, we all naturally begin to hunker down and get that hibernation feeling.

Staying in – it’s just not dull any more. Babysitters are expensive, a night out on top even more so. And staying in needn’t be dull! We have regular date nights, and rarely go further than the sofa. Close the curtains, put the youngest to bed and banish all older children up stairs; cook a nice meal and eat it together, then grab a rug, light a candle and just curl up together.

And thank goodness for Netflix! Unlimited streaming makes our choices wide open, and means we can always find something that suits everyone.

Here’s our top picks for grown up watching in November (and NO – no Christmas movies allowed. It’s too EARLY people…).

First out of the blocks is one that made me squeak with joy. House M.D. is on Netflix! ALL EIGHT SERIES!!!

Oh how I do love this show – we watched every single episode, right from the very beginning. Hugh Laurie is spectacularly good, but the whole show is simply unmissable. The script is tight, the storylines are clever, the characters well-developed… and I cannot wait to go back and enjoy it all again, right for the very beginning. And don’t worry – unlike so many long-running shows, the ending (which you’ll reach in a few weeks, you won’t be able to stop once you start…) is absolutely perfect.
Plus I don’t think I ever saw the pilot, so there’s a whole new treat for me waiting to be unwrapped. Honestly, it’s like Christmas came a month early.
HOUSE is BACK!

Next up – 10 Things I Hate About You
It’s an oldie… but it’s a goodie. And if you’re in the mood for some bittersweet teen High School comedy romance, you cannot go wrong with 10 Things. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger are fizzing legends in this movie, and this sweet updating of the Taming of The Shrew is always worth sharing a sofa with.

And my last pick for a grown ups night in this November? insomnia
Insomnia.
The Robin Williams film I’ve always missed out – and the one I know I really should watch.
Also allegedly one of the last great roles Al Pacino played. It’s on my list this month, and I am absolutely determined to watch it, and see what all the fuss is about.

How about you – what are you planning to hit play on the next time you have a long evening by the fire planned?

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
