I know, I know. Vileda aren’t usually the first brand that crosses your mind when you think Christmas, are they (mine would be more “mmmm… Tiffany…“)? But I properly love their latest campaign video, all about giving time for Christmas. Not necessarily your time either – but instead of adding yet-another-jumper or pretty-but-not-very-useful thingie to their homes, it suggests perfect experiences for them to enjoy instead. Taking some time out of their own busy lives, just for them.
I know that would be a pretty perfect present for me.
This time of year just whooooshes, doesn’t it? I always think I’ve got bags of time to get things sorted… and then glance at the calendar and realise that actually, it’s less than two weeks away… *internally screams in panic*
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those who moans about Christmas – I absolutely love it. I love the endless lists, and the planning, and the doing, and the business and the sheer specialness of the run up almost as much as I enjoy sitting back and wallowing in the festivities themselves.
But it all goes so darned FAST, and before I blink and turn around I’ve got 3 nights to wrap 437 presents and still yet to figure out the mulled wine recipe or who’s making the bread sauce this year.
And when you’re short on time, but don’t want to just buy a cop-out gift of smellies or a jumper, it’s tough to get it right. Buying gifts for people who refuse to drop any hints – or who’s perfect gift idea has already been nabbed by another (more organised) member of the family – just is not helpful. Whilst I was tempted to use the Vileda Gift Finder to sort the last presents on my list (mine was definitely the Cleaning Robot… oh how I’d love one of those babies…), I was genuinely inspired by the Vileda video – it solved my last two Gift Issues. Yes, my MIL would TOTALLY love a gardening masterclass, and yoga lessons for a teen niece will be just the thing.
