Funny how printers have become ever cheaper – and yet the ink cartridges seem to be more expensive every time I buy them.
We have a Canon printer in the office, and it’s one that takes five different cartridges – if we buy replacements for all of them at the same time, and use canon original cartridges not compatibles, then that’s over £60. The printer itself only cost us £120!
But I have found that shopping around is definitely worth doing – they can vary hugely in price. And if you’re in the market for compatibles there are definitely some that are more trustworthy than others.
My usual first stop is Cartridge Discount – I like the fact that they’re a ‘real’ store, with a phone number and genuinely knowledgeable people on the end of it if you should happen to have a question. Free delivery is always a bonus – and free fast delivery is excellent. On top of all that (as if that weren’t enough) they’re always competitive on pricing, and the own-brand compatibles have never let me down.
Plus (despite the name…) they’re not just about the ink cartridges – we’ve used them for photo paper and blank DVD’s too, and if anyone uses a toner printer (I haven’t touched one since my days in a ‘real’ office that had, y’know, other people in it…) then they’ve got you covered too.
