Tea. It’s not secret round here that I love the stuff. And like so many things in life, I’ve grown a little more selective in my old age. Once I thought tea only came in packs of 240 small white bags (unless you were at Granny’s house. She messed around with a pot and a strainer and there were always little black bits floating in it like dead ants… and not in a  good squashed-flies- Garibaldi-biscuits way). But then I fell pregnant.

I know, it’s not normally a path to tea connoisseurship, is it? But it so happened that I was struggling with feeling queazy on the drive in to work, and one of the baby magazines I bought had a free sample of Rooibos – allegedly ‘an amazing caffeine-free tea which helps settle a queazy stomach’. I tried it, and I was sold. I’ve been a Redbush drinker ever since.

And then came a review sample of loose leaf tea when I was recovering from Whooping Cough – and it was like a revelation. It was a white tea – I hadn’t even known white tea existed. And it was light, and fresh, and complex and exactly what my tired old convalescing body needed… and suddenly I couldn’t go back. I ordered some loose leaf rooibos, and then some black teas… and I realised that there was a whole new world of tea to explore. PROPER tea.

So when Adagio Teas got in touch (oh Adagio. My very favourite is your Spearmint mixed with Gunpowder for a real actual proper mint tea) and asked if I thought you guys might like to win some tea for yourself, I of course bit their tea leaves off.
