Have you been watching the show (BBC2, Mondays, 8.30pm)? Isn’t it just the best 30 minutes of non-fiction TV you’ve seen in a long time? Well, I think so and I think this gorgeous lady is going to give those other cheffy-type TV characters a serious run for their money. See, that is a big part of the appeal with Lorraine, she’s just so down to earth and makes all the baking seem so darn easy and straight forward. I also love that she uses a stand mixer a lot as my shiny new gift from Santa has finally found a purpose beyond looking pretty.
So, after watching the 1st two episodes and frantically trying to scribble down notes to every single thing (I have never before watched a cooking programme and wanted to make every single darn thing) I heaved a huge sigh of relief when the announcer told us about the book. Cue Amazon app on the iPhone and a copy was whizzing it’s way to me, pronto.
The book is superb and very well priced (Kindle edition on Amazon is £9.99) considering how much is in there (100 recipes). I’ve just had a nosy at her blog too and there’s even more gems to be found. Her short cut mac and cheese looks yum!
I’m looking forward to trying out the fig tart, chunky breadsticks and Asian ham. I’ll report back with results, after I’ve stuffed my face of course…
