Bestest Christmas Gift Guide – The Brilliant Sansa Fuze+ MP3 player

sansa Fuze+ MP3 player for ten year olds review

There’s no escaping  it – an MP3 player is an essential part of any child’s life from the age of 5 or so. But the trick is finding which one, isn’t it?
It needs to be robust enough to handle living with a ham-fisted child, but sophisticated enough for them not to fling it into a drawer in frustration.
We have spoken before about how much we love the Sansa Clip Zip, but my second son is at high School now, and yearning for something a little bit cleverer than the Clip Zip.

I do not want to be endowing my loses-everything 11yr old with a mahoosively expensive iPod…. but I do understand that he wants something a little ‘more’ than the Clip Zip. And, so, up steps Sansa with the Fuze+. Totally perfect for that in-between stage.

It’s got everything he needs – 8GB of space so he can store all his music AND his audio books (and you can expand that as far as you like with a micro SD card of course).
It also has an FM tuner, so radio is now an option – and you can pause & record the radio too.
It naturally has the essential voice recording for late-night silliness when no one is listening. The battery life is excellent – I think it’s about 50 hours for MP3 listening, which is fantastic.
But on top of all the usual MP3 stuff, he can now watch video’s too -which is what makes this a total winner.

(personally, I also happen to really like the fact that it has a noise-limitation setting, knowing that the minute his bedroom door is shut the volume inside those headphones will be spun up to LOUD).

So – looking for a seriously cool and well-equipped MP3 player for your pre-teen that won’t break your bank balance? Well, we simply cannot suggest anything better than Sansa’s Fuze+.

They come in a range of colours, and the Sansa Fuze+ is available on Amazon currently for a smidge under £70.

A 70's child, I’ve been married for a Very Long Time, and appear to have made four children, and collected one large and useless dog along the way. I work, I have four children, I have a dog… ergo, I do not do dusting or ironing. I began LittleStuff back in (gulp) 2004. I like huge mugs of tea. And Coffee. And Cake. And a steaming cone of crispy fresh fluffy chips, smothered in salt and vinegar. #healthyeater When I grow up I am going to be quietly graceful, organised and wear lipstick every day. In the meantime I *may* have a slight butterfly-brain issue.
