Full review coming later this week, but here’s the sneak preview pics of our family day out at Bristol Zoo – the first time Ella has been to one (at least since she’s been big enough to notice), so the whole day was a complete adventure for her!
The lunchtime ‘meet the animals’ display was excellent – but completely packed. We possibly wouldn’t have elected to stop as it was so busy – but the presenter was so good she had us hooked just as we walked past!
Okay, I cheated with the colours a bit, but it’s hard to show just how amazingly brilliantly beautiful this Macaw was without photoshop-ing just a little!
Ella clapping the display – ‘Parrot, Mummy! Look! Parrot is flying, look!’
Armadillo!!!!!!
Ella was fascinated in Reptile House, and loved getting face-to-face with the various creatures.
The lizards in particular made her stop to say ‘hello’. Literally. And repeatedly.
Cameron enjoying a similar chat with a Big Fish (yes, I know, i should’ve made notes on the animals I was photographing to impress you with)
The meerkats had some SWEEEET tiny babies – that I couldn’t photograph because they were being very carefully nannied by the pack. But these three didn’t seem to mind their photo being taken. Simples.
Sign of a Grand Day Out, yes?

It’s about time we took Charlie to the zoo – he might learn something about table-manners from the chimps!

sadly, no chimps at Bristol. Or elephants. But lots and lots of small-things-in-cases which fascinated, and meerkats and Prairie Dogs that were nearly as good. Nearly.
