Eeps – My Patient Q Score’s 47… What’s yours?
Patient.co.uk has joined forces with roadtohealth to launch a new online tool that (through a quick series of questions) delivers a personalised programme of advice designed to improve anyone’s mental and physical health – as well as a ‘Q Score’ of 1-100 which rates you on your personal health.
As part of the Tots100 project I agreed to sign up and test it for myself – I’m not one to fret endlessly about myself as I’m pretty blessed with good health, but certain recent events have shown me that age is starting to creep up and if I don’t get a grip soon I’m on a slippery slope.
So I was quite surprised as I sailed through the questionnaire that I ended up with a score of only 47 – I honestly expected to be higher. At least in the high 50’s. It soon became clear that yes, I have good genes with no particular medical dodginess to watch out for, and my stress, cholesterol and alcohol levels are all just fine.
But my lifestyle really does need some work. I need to move more – walking the dog 5 times a week isn’t enough, apparently. And food? More fruit, less butter.
Not rocket science is it? Pretty easy to make a start on, in fact. I’ll check back in 12 weeks and see how my score has improved…
