Fabulous vintage-style dress for Christmas!
It’s so prettyyyyyy.
When I came across 20th Century Foxy, I actually squeaked and ooh-ed loud enough to make people wonder what I was looking at.
I love love LOVE them.
It’s an online boutique selling vintage reproduction clothing from the golden era of style – the 1930s, 40s and 50s. British designer, British-made… and oozing style and quality.
So when they offered to send me a dress to try out I leaped at the chance – because not only do I LOVE their clothes, but there’s also a huge range fo sizes which means they even fit my statuesque proportions – practically unheard of!
I actually swooned over the red version of this 1950s Wrap Circle dress….
but red’s not a good colour on me, so I opted for the black instead.
And I have to say – I put it on and… stood taller. I swayed and swished, and immediately needed to slip into some heels and put on some glossy lippy.
I did.
That’s what this dress DOES to you.
The 1950s Wrap Circle Dress is based on an original vintage 1950s garment, and is designed to fit ‘womanly figures’ beautifully – making the most of those curves. If you are busty, this dress gives plenty of room and the batwing sleeves not only cover the upper arm bing wings, but are comfy and easy to wear. The waist band under bust creates a gorgeous nipped in silhouette together with the full circular skirt (which can be worn with or without a petticoat).
I thought, as a tall person, the waist (as usual) would be too high – but actually the design is so good that it’s an incredibly flattering cut. The waist is a little higher than on a shorter person, obviously, but is so deep it still looks great. The fabric falls perfectly, and the cut around the bust make it just so flattering.
I LOVE it. I can dress it up with some sparkle for an evening out – but it’ll also not look out of place dressed down for business use.
However – it’s not all 50’s swirl. Oh no. Take a look at these new babies:
Just swooningly beautiful – something for every shape and every occasion. And now I’m in NEED of some 1940’s swing trousers, and also have my eye on a red ditsy 1940’s shirt dress.
I suggest you head over there, and pick out something special for the Christmas season. You simply won’t be able to resist.
The 1950s Wrap Circle Dress can be yours for £125 from 20th Century Foxy.
