This month’s issue of the LittleStuff magazine is a bit late; because a couple of weeks ago the first COVID Lockdown was announced.
I sighed and dumped all the paid-for content I had spent hours carefully laying out…
Instead I’ve taken my time to pull together everything useful I can find for teen families in lockdown. This bumper issue (genuinely the biggest issue I’ve ever pulled together, by a long way) is simply a great big 40-page round up of everything we’re loving and using in my own house right now, with as many free resources as I can find.
Oh and a note on that front cover – I usually spend ages finding a relevant & amusing vintage image of a cheerful face. But my oldest son dashed across the Atlantic to his girlfriend on the day the US travel ban came in (see page 18 for the whole mad story – 14hrs of travelling, beset by more disasters than Richard Curtis could write, lurching repeatedly from triumph to despair, left behind as the last person off the last flight, he slid across the empty JFK arrivals towards security. The TSA guard checked his watch and said “Sorry, dude, it’s after midnight, I can’t let you in.”).
He’s safe and well, but I have absolutely no idea when the next time will be that I get to squish him in a huge hug.
So this one’s for me.
And finally I’ve taken note of the biggest hitters on the website this month – traffic has really spiked for certain things; it’s clear we’re all looking for books, audiobooks, film reviews, comfort baking, retro cooking, new bedding and pretty fairy lights.
Oh, and there’s a chance to win a £130 Instant Pot, plus a GCSE-in-a-Week bundle with a Spotify gift card!
So make a cold drink, grab a biscuit and take 5 minutes to mosey through it. Do make sure you click on anything you like (people always forget that, it’s like dark magic :) ).
Thank you – stay safe, and stay calm. And don’t forget to get out and cheer your bloody heart out for our amazing NHS on Thursday. *blows a big kiss* Laura xx
