New Competition – Win £200 M&S Vouchers! Just tell us your Grand Plan for your retirement.
Only yesterday, I was reading a very powerful piece from an old O! magazine (thank you Keris!) talking about the whooshing speed that time passes (if you’re interested, it’s by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and you can read it here. You SHOULD read it, it’s wonderful). Do you ever get that mild panicky feeling that you need time to wait, hold on a minute… just STOP! That sometimes you just want to be right here for a little longer before life moves on again?
Yes, me too.
But as well as holding on to the present, I also excitedly anticipate my future. OUR future. The husband and I often stay up far too late, making plans and plotting adventures. Telling each other how it’s going to be. Let me tell you now, our retirement is going to be simply brilliant. We have our future house all set up, our travel plans sorted… we’ve filled our lazy hazy future days with a lot of fun, family and a positively giddy amount of Happy. The thought of growing old together just makes me feel peaceful, way down deep inside.
So we’ve joined forces with Compare The Market to find out what you’re plotting for your own Golden Years. Because of course, none of the magic is going to happen without a little forethought and a lot of planning. Life Insurance is one of those dull, grown up things that sadly seems to become more important to think about as the years go by (if you’re looking, just make sure you shop around and compare, because not all policies are created equal. You can click here to try comparethemarket).
To be in with a chance to win £200 M&S Vouchers, please answer the first three questions in the Rafflecopter box below. You will then be able to generate more entries by completing the other, optional, entry methods. The closing date for this competition is 20th April 2014 and only entries received on or before that date can be included. The 1st prize winner will be the first randomly selected entry. Good luck!

Our plan is to visit all the amazing places we’ve got on our ‘bucket’ list before we get too old! Everytime we see something we really want to see or do, we pop it on the list. So once the children have flown the nest,we hope to be able to have the health, and money to be able to work our way through the list! :)

If we win the lottery/Euromillions, we’d love to buy a farm with lot of woodland where we would have the acres and resources to be able to rescue animals and offer them a safe place to live. My better half has always wanted alpacas and llamas too so he’d get a few of those. As animal husbandry can be time-consuming that would be our retirement hours easily filled! I’d spend any spare time reading all the books I want to read before I die! Fingers crossed hoping for a little bit of luck to come my way now.

Retirement :- It would be wonderful to be able to relax, take it easy (have an easy, comfortable and secure life). Travel, sit in a garden relaxing and reading etc, etc, etc.
Seems though, that one can only dream, as Economic situation has made this unachievable for many. Probably why the younger generation are taking any opportunities they can for a quality of life. Previous generations thought work hard, then rest in retirement.
Balance :- Work, Rest and Play.
