Autumn’s finally here – time to put away the flippy summer dresses, but it’s not yet chilly enough for the chunky jumpers, is it? There’s a definite need for some soft and comfortable in-between-ers outfits… and naturally Long tall Sally have come up with a couple of unspeakably perfect solutions.
Of course, jeans are an everyday staple for most of us. If you’ve no need for dressing for the office (I bless my life every day that working from home means I get to ‘business-dress’ on certain occasions, rather than figuring it out with bleary eyes at 7 in the morning as I did in the ‘good’ old days), then jeans will take you everywhere you need to go in the day; pyjamas are all well and good for sitting and working in, but then you have to open the door to a courier at 2 in the afternoon in red tartan snuggies, and you find you’re raising eyebrows with the DHL man.
But jeans are a tricky blighter to buy, aren’t they? I don’t think I know anybody who hasn’t found ‘their’ jeans, and stuck with them. And we all have different needs. For me, Long Tall Sally are where it’s at. Not only do I not have to buy the man’s version to ensure the legs don’t look like they’ve argued with my ankles, but they also do a high-waisted pair. Any plumptious mamas will know why this is important – after four children and a few more than four doughnuts, my tummy is not the tautest of beings. The low-cut trend in jeans sees spillage where spillage ought not to be, and I had almost given up on ever feeling confident in jeans again.
Then LTS’s ‘slimmer jean‘ strolled into my life – I’m on pair no. 2, and I’m still in love. They’re flatteringly cut, make my bum look astonishingly presentable, and (joy of joys) they wrap snuggly around my wobbly paunch and fit me all the way to my waist.
They are quite simply a denim-wrapped miracle.
I teamed them with that delicious Paisley Print Tunic – which is a soft jersey fabric, and simply fabulous. Though it IS large – I would have been happy with the size smaller, as it swirls roomily around me.
