Review – Brilliant Unisex Winter Coat Ski Jacket
I LOVE this coat. It’s a ski jacket, really, but achingly practical as a school coat too. Packed FULL of quality details that make it worth every penny.
Firstly – it’s not lined with a thick fleece or eiderdown padding, so it’s not a massively warm coat on its own. But I was happy with that – adding another fleece layer on a cold day isn’t a hardship, and for boys tearing around I find the thick warm coats are often discarded due to being too hot and restrictive.
This one does have bags of small detailing that make it uber practical though. It is fully waterproof, of course. An inner-elasticated lining (a powder skirt) to stop any draughts breezing upwards and making backs chilly, practical even if you’re not skiing and need protecting from the snow. And it’s the same at the sleeves with integrated thumbhole linings to keep wrists draught (and snow) free.
The fur trim on the hood is removable, for the picky fashionistas, there’s plenty of fastenings to keep it nice and snug, and pockets to spare for Storing Important Things.
Best and most essential, of course, is the fact that you can bung it in the washing machine and it comes out good as new.
Oh, and look! Vertbaudet just reduced it! The Ski Jacket is down from £49 to £36.75., and comes in two colours, in sizes 2-14yrs. We totally recommend it.
