I have decided. I need a new hat. And I want a slouchy knitted beanie hat.
It’s always around now that I start rummaging in the hat box for the woolly ones. It’s not quite cold enough for a winter coat yet, but unless I’m running with the dog the cool late afternoon breeze can be a little chilly for just a jumper or a fleece. i find a nice woolly hat does the job perfectly, keeping my ears warm without roasting me.
And there’s always room for a nice new hat, isn’t there? I don’t have a big head, but i DO have a lot of hair – and I’ve yet to find a nice slouchy beanie that stays slouchy around my mop.
But this fabulous knitted Boreal Fisherman beanie I spotted over in CrochetGallery’s Etsy shop looks about perfect. It’s a soft acrylic/wool mix (which does mean that you’ll need to wash it a little carefully (but as I wrote that I realised I cannot remember the last time I washed one of my hats; in fact ANY hat since the oldest dipped himself head-first into a puddle when he was about 4…), and is sized to fit comfortably on teen and adult head sizes.
It looks extremely comfortable, cosily warm… and if the creamy white isn’t your thing, then there’s a whole palette of other colours to choose from…
It’s shipped from Tennessee, so no good if you want it for this weekend – but I can’t imagine anyone not loving receiving this to warm their heads this winter.
The Boreal Fisherman Slouchy Knitted Beany Hat is just under £24 from The CrochetGallery Etsy shop.
