I know it’s not your average baby soft toy. But LOOK at these gorgeous crocs!
Irresistibly bright and cheery, soft with textures and handily chewable flappy bits, and the absolute perfect shape for small hands to grab and carry.
And on top of all that, he’s good for your conscience too – Cushy the crocodile (Cushy? He looks far more like a Stanley to me, personally) is the newest addition to Barefoot’s range of Fair Trade soft toys from Sri Lanka. Designed by Barbara Sansoni to celebrate the birth of her first granddaughter, the crocodiles are hand-woven by skilled artisans in rural communities under strict Fair Trade conditions. They are made entirely from natural materials (stuffed with Kapok), and the quality of workmanship is remarkable – and so full of character!
And on top of all that, no two designs are the same so you are guaranteed a unique toy! The lovely folk at Born Gifted will help you out if there is a specific colour you would like – just email them and they will try to find a match. Always a bonus of shopping with an Independent!
The crocodiles are around 30cm long, and rest easy – they are completely machine washable!
The Barefoot Fair Trade Crocodiles are currently in the Born Gifted sale – reduced from £16 to under £10, we suggest you go *cough* snap one up…
