Last Christmas, quite by accident, I fell over a website for a company called The Works.
No, I know, I was probably the last one to hear about them, but just in case, I’m here to spread the joy.
Because The Works are… a bargain hunters dream
They really are.
I snapped up so many deals last Christmas, and I continue to browse the site regularly; the stock is always changing and you just never know what you’re going to come across. From fab boxed sets of books to popular toys and handy party gifts, it’s my first port of call now.
Today I was looking at their craft supplies section, getting ready for a lovely artistic Autumn. As a Home Ed mum, craft supplies are probably our biggest-used resource (after the computer!) – and something I can never have too much of. Admittedly though, we are having to redesign an entire room just to house what we already have. It’s amazing how you have cupboards full… and still let out an “oooh!” when you see those particular ribbons, or papers, or buttons.
Here’s some of what fell into my basket today when I wasn’t looking:
But my best bargain of all?
This one.
That’s six packs of this fab white modelling clay (the terracotta version is the same price if you prefer it) for under £20; I expect to pay around £6 per pack for this size. DAS is brilliant for sculpting and pottery work at home because it keeps moist easily while you work it, and then it air dries to a nice finish which can be painted.
And such a big bundle means we don’t have to work on tiny-scale miniature sculptures!
May I suggest you meander on over to The Works if you’re not already familiar? I dare you to leave without adding something to your basket…
