Love the great outdoors?  I know it’s not quite that time of year – brisk bright winter walks are some of my favourites, but when the weather turns ‘English’ even the keenest of walkers among us will raise an eyebrow and opt for an afternoon by the fire instead of yomping outside in the teeth of a rainy gale. If you’re forced out to walk the dog, then it’s not a long slow hike is it? It’s the bare minimum, at as fast a pace as you can manage, just to get done and get back indoors where the kettle and the pot of cashew nuts are.
