We’re HUGE fans of New Balance – for kids and adults alike.

Founded in 1906, New Balance is an American footwear brand that makes sports shoes – and they’re known for bring a blend of performance and style. A air of New Balance shoes is never just a pretty face (or foot) – they use top notch shoe technologies and technical features that improve various aspects including durability, flexibility, natural foot motion and support. All kids love to wear trainers, but New Balance trainers won’t be the sloppy comfies that are no good for their feet; this is sort of the trainers version of sensible school shoes. Only these babies look so cool!

I got Bear, my 10yr old achingly-picky shoe shopper, to have a look – and to my amazement she loved loads of the designs. This literally never happens – she’ll gaze at a whole page of footwear, wrinkle her nose and ask if there are any more to choose from. But she loved the colours the styles, and the fact that so many were of a unisex design.

New Balance kids shoes have really flexible soles to allow growing feet room to flex and spread, topped with IMEVA (injection-moulded EVA foam) in the midsole for firm yet really flexible cushioning. For smaller feet there’s brilliantly wide hook-and-loop fastening which means that even small toddlers can handle their own trainers easily.
