Iconic plastic skateboard brand Penny have caused a wave of hype recently – if you’ve been in a cave and not seen them, they’re just like the boards we had as kids, and the simplicity of the design has an enduring classic appeal that is reaching the latest generation as much as we loved the old boards in the 70’s and 80’s.
And just in time for the summer, Penny have launched their most tropical collection to date. From palm trees and Toucans to Easter Island figures on a Hawaiian vacation and an astronaut in sea space… we love them, and frankly want ALL the boards. The designs are so cool, and just everything we all love about summer.
My biggest teen is a dedicated longboarder – no skateparks for him, he loves to cruise the streets. And yet he yearns for a Penny board. Penny boards are extremely light and flexible, yet amazingly robust and strong – designed for cruising through the city streets, bombing hills and doing tricks. The original Penny Skateboard is a 22” length perfect for tricks, and there’s a longer 27” Penny Nickel complete, which is more suited to cruising.
